Coosa County Chamber Board of Directors

Leadership for the Chamber is provided by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors volunteers by dedicating time to help promote Coosa Chamber and its members. There is no paid staff, which helps us keep our overhead costs and member dues to a minimum.

The Chamber Board Members have over sixty years of combined business experience. The team meets monthly and works throughout the year to coordinate events, market the local area, and support local and potential industries in their effort to reach their growth goals.

PRESIDENT

Elmore Unbehant

Elmore is an active member of the Coosa County Chamber of Commerce as a representative from several business organizations. Elmore works at Madix in Goodwater and holds many volunteer roles in the community.

VICE PRESIDENT

Niesha Whetstone

Nieshia Whetstone is a native of Coosa County and the Owner of Understand the Process. Her company provides classes on how to apply and obtain scholarships, recruitment for medical staffing She is also a notary and signing agent. Nieshia serves on the Rockford , AL City Council and volunteers for the Coosa Central girls basketball team.

TREASURER

Kathy Fulmer

Kathy Fulmer has served on the chamber board since it was first formed. Currently, she is serving as Treasurer. Kathy recently retired from The Walt Disney Company.

BOARD MEMBER

Spencer Hardy

Spencer is a retired United States Army senior non-commissioned officer, AT&T employee and business owner. He has a degree in computer networking and electronic technology. He grew up in Coosa County. After 45 years, Spencer and his wife moved back to Coosa, bringing a plethora of experience in personnel and business management and training development. Spencer serves as a supervisor on the Coosa County Soil and Water Conservation District. He is community volunteer with 4H, veterans group and RSVP.

Christa Jennings

Christa is the editor for The Coosa County News. She covers stories for the entire county and its municipalities. She has been a resident of Coosa County since 2005 and is proud to call Coosa County her home base. In both of her jobs she works with the public and engages in community outreach. Christa was a founding member of the Board of Directors for the Coosa County Chamber of Commerce.

Sherlene Leonard

Sherlene is the owner of Leonard Printing in Coosa County. The business is a long-standing member of the Chamber and Sherlene recently joined the Board of Directors.

Latisha Simmons is the founder of SOS Queendom, a nonprofit organization that aims to educate, empower, and evolve women/girls by helping them realize their worth and potential.
